Rook Piercing

A Rook is a piercing a point in the ear. It is located vertically in the anti-helix, the cartilage bridge between the Inner and Outer Conch Conch. For use is a special form of the barbell, the so-called Curved Barbell (banana, see photo), because of their special form, which takes the pressure off the pierced cartilage, particularly suitable. Although it looks innocuous, this is probably one of the most painful piercings, as it is stung by very dense structure of cartilage. The healing time of this piercing is slightly longer than other cartilage piercings (three to four months) and requires much care.

It was named after the piercer Erik "Rook" Dakota, who is said to have made known.
