Variations


The piercing is usually engraved vertically in the upper skin fold of the navel. Possible but also the attachment in the lower fold of skin or on the sides. In the latter variant usually two opposing piercings are arranged symmetrically.
Also in the abdominal wall around the navel jewelry can be engraved as a surface piercing. This is usually mounted horizontally and often leads to complications.
The stretching of the needle tract is possible but not common and is rarely practiced.
